Are you bonded, licensed, and insured?

Pawlina’s Pet Services is a DC licensed business, which is bonded and insured. I am happy to provide documentation upon request.

Do you have any pet care certifications?

Yes – I have Red Cross Certification in animal first aid and we are members of National Association of Professional Pet Sitters

Getting started – what do you require?

My first visit with you and your pet(s) is a 15-minute meet and greet. We can do this initial visit in advance of your scheduled pet visit – the cost is $15 – or this initial visit can be included in your first scheduled pet visit. At this time, you can explain any special concerns or quirks that your pet has, show me where pet items (leash, harness, treats, etc.) are kept, etc. I will also need a copy of your key or confirmation that your concierge will allow me to access your home. If not provided in advance, I will need a copy of your current vaccination records for your pet. I can only provide services for dogs who are current on their required vaccinations.

Do you administer medicine?

I can administer medicine based on a conversation in advance and written instructions left with the medication but please keep in mind that I am not a trained veterinary technician.

What places in DC will you not take my dog?

Dogs are not allowed in playgrounds, athletic courts, pool areas, or public fields. I also do not go to dog parks since I do not know how well your dog and the dogs in the dog park might interact. My primary focus is to make sure your dogs are happy and safe.

How does your billing work?

All services must be paid for at the time of scheduling, no exceptions. Payments can be made using Venmo, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Stripe, If you cancel your pet visit, I will refund you the appropriate amount in the same manner that you paid once your original payment has been cleared. Refunds on pre-paid packages will convert the visits already used to undiscounted prices.

What is your notice requirement to cancel a visit?

I need 24 hours’ advance notice to cancel without a charge. If notice is given less than 24 hours in advance, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the cancelled service.

Do you charge for same-day scheduling?

I do not charge for same-day scheduling and will do my best to accommodate you based on my availability.

Does DC require vaccinations?

Yes – dogs over four months old must be vaccinated against rabies and distemper. The rabies vaccination tag should be attached to the dog’s collar or harness. Cats over four months old must be vaccinated against rabies.

Does my pet need to be licensed in DC?

Yes – DC requires that requires that dogs over four months old must be licensed. To obtain a license, you must be able to show that your dog has a current rabies and distemper vaccination.
